the same time will exhaust you, and it does not matter if they are big decisions or small ones; it's overwhelming to take that much responsibility on your shoulders, especially if you are not trained to do so. Another consequence of a beginner's enthusiasm that can affect your motivation is neglecting your physical needs,while working on your project 24/7; if we add social rejection of your new ideas and hard work, we can see the situation getting tough as fast as you can say "motivation".
So let's start with what we can do.
- BE HAPPY! A lot of motivation comes from the state of happiness. How can you change the way you feel? Focus on self-control; if you take from someone the possibility to control his life, the level of happiness of that person will decrease rapidly; therefore give yourself the sense of self control and you will become happier. This is the reason there are so many control freaks and why video games are so popular, people are just looking for happiness.
- Make or find your slogan/mantra; this will help you remember your purpose and will give you the power to sustain your level of motivation.
- Be realistic, set reasonable, achievable goals instead of too ambitious ones.
- Don't compare yourself to others and don't let them prevent you from achieving your dream.
- Choose one objective to focus on; it's a common mistake to try to take on too many targets at once without having the energy and focus required to maintain them.
- Remember the feeling you had when you were at the top of your game, your peak moments; this is the sensation you want to duplicate as often as possible in order to attract the same success.
- Don't overestimate your capacity, boost your energy with a healthy diet, understand that your body has needs and the answer is not coffee; caffeine doesn't give you energy; it just lessens the effect of being tired and the need to sleep (nature's downtime).
- Keep track of your progress, seeing improvement can boost your motivation.
- Get support, anyone who can encourage you or hire a trainer. Find inspiration by reading success stories about others who are doing it or did it already.
- Efficiency is very important, it's helps the confidence one has in himself; to stimulate your efficiency use people around you; for example, someone that is good at what you want to do can become a friendly rival;
- Don't let modesty block your way but at the same time, don't be afraid to do what you are good at and if you are average, then train.
Most important of all, don't expect perfection; if you accept that there can be some sidesteps on your journey, you'll be better prepared mentally to deal with setbacks. Find an activity you enjoy, get excited about your goal; then it's just a matter of carrying that energy forward. Think about it daily, build on small successes, forget the past, reward yourself, squash negative thoughts and think about the benefits. Even stubbornness can be a good motivation if it's in check; remember that anything can be of use if it is not exaggerated.
